Description

This is the second course of a four-level series that teaches the Ajurrumiyyah primer. In this series, students will learn Al-Muqaddimah Al-Ajurrumiyyah,  a renowned beginner primer in Arabic grammar. The second course consists of 12 live sessions, starting from the different types of verbs and ending with “inna wa akhawātuhā”. This course is based on the foundations built in level one, covering the most famous sentence structures which start with either a noun or a verb. The class is taught in English, but the examples are all in Arabic. The students will get to go through many examples and will be tested on the material they learned. They will also enrich their vocabulary by practicing examples and drills of commonly used nouns and verbs in the Quran and modern Arabic. Live sessions will begin July 5, 2021, and will go on for 6 weeks. All recordings will be available for enrolled students.

  • The different types of verbs and their i‘rāb and binā’
  • The i‘rāb of the fi‘l and fā‘il, nā‘ib al-fā‘il al-mubtada’ and al-khabar, kāna wa akhawātuhā, and inna wa akhawātuhā.

Requirements

  • Students must be able to read Arabic. It is recommended, but not necessary to have studied a beginner level of general Arabic to truly benefit from the course. Students should take and pass level one of 4, as level 2 is based on Level 1.

  • Our target audience for this course and series are English speaking students who are interested in learning Arabic and want to have a good understanding of the Arabic sciences of grammar and how the language works. They should be students who have taken and passed level one of 4 of this series with Lisan Al-Arab Institute.
